Large Trucks often have two cooling system caps:
A vacuum-holding adaptor may be necessary to refill. These adaptors replace the pressure-relieving cap during the process and have an automatic safety pressure-relief system.

• Change a cooling system component without draining the cooling system
• Uses shop air to create light vacuum that prevents coolant from draining as a component is changed
• Most profitable application is changing thermostats, temperature sensors or freeze plugs on large trucks; much of the new coolant can be saved
• Little operator skill required; the tool can do much more but there is a significant learning curve
Basic Instruction: Hook up the tool and open the valve. The tool puts the system under a light vacuum (as opposed to the SVTSRAD272A or SVTSRAD272U which pulls a deep vacuum.) Leaving the air valve open, you can now slowly begin to remove the component you need to change. In some instances, such as with a hose, you need to give the tool a minute to sweep all of the coolant back into the system. Then, having the replacement part next to you, remove the old part and install the new one. Turn off the air and the system will fill back up.

SVT270B Vacuum Test Kit
• Diagnostic aid for checking operation of vacuum-activated actuator
• Measures vacuum up to 30 in Hg with an easy-to-read gauge
• Release valve to control the release of vacuum
• Ergonomic design is durable for everyday use
• Includes hose, cone adaptor, large cone adaptor and cup
• Use with EGR valves, turbocharger wastegates, blend door actuators for A/C and heating systems, transmission shift modulators, power brake assist booster choke actuators and distributor advance mechanisms
• Each unit is factory-tested to vacuum levels which easily meet the testing requirements of automotive vacuum
• Pump head repair kits are available with both types of O-rings
• If the piston O-ring swells, the pump handle will not move easily and eventually the pump will not work
Please note regarding O-rings:
SVT270BRK (Buna-N) – The SVT270B has been assembled with O-rings made of Nitrile Buna-N –a material compatible with most fluids found in an automobile, but not brake fluid; exposure to brake fluid will cause the O-rings to swell
SVT270BRK-EPDM (EDPM) – O-rings made of Ethylene Propylene (EPDM) will not swell in brake fluid, but will swell if exposed to gasoline
